A word about "Mindless Pleasures" - Mindless Pleasures was the working title of
Thomas Pynchon's 1973 masterpiece, Gravity's Rainbow, a mindbending novel set
during WWII. The New York Times called it "bonecrushingly dense, compulsively elaborate,
silly, obscene, funny, tragic, pastoral, historical, philosophical, poetic, grindingly
dull, inspired, horrific, cold, bloated, beached and blasted."
It is all that and more. Review. Also see: "Pynchon from A to V" by Gerald Howard.
