strongThe Huayhuash Cordlillera, as seen from the International Space Station. This short (25 kilometer) mountain range boasts 20 prominent peaks, six higher than 6,000 meters (19,500 feet). The Huayhuash (pronounced quot;Whywashquot;) trek circumnavigates the range and takes about 12 days. Our July 2008 trek started at the far left, proceeding clockwise.
